RATIONALE:
Various researches have been performed on the safety climate in different industries and found that OHS training is required to improve safety climate. Below are findings related OHS matters:
- Wu, et al. (2007) found that employees that attended safety training and that have accident experience have a higher perceived safety climate than those without safety training.
- Dalvie, et al. (2014) found that comprehension in the agricultural, industrial and transport sectors as well as consumers of South Africa of health and safety matters including hazard communication labels and material safety data sheets (MSDS) were generally low. The conclusion was made that the low comprehensibility is likely due to low levels of training in health and safety amongst workers.
